About Us
TelePharmacy®, Inc. (TPI) is the nation’s oldest prescription transmission firm. TPI was started in 1990 in the Washington, DC metropolitan area with a computerized fax network that allowed physicians to fax prescriptions to patients’ preferred pharmacies. TPI’s prescription system has continued to evolve as technology has evolved. During this period, the fax prescription transmission system has been upgraded to an electronic prescription system using TPI’s proprietary software placed on physician’s desktops; to an Internet Portal as an Application Service Provider (ASP); and is now offering an entirely new Internet Portal dedicated to the communication between patients, physicians and pharmacies. This new network is called the Medical Network Service (MNS) and is listed as www.mednetservice.com. MNS is in addition to the TelePharmacy® Portal, which contains the medical practice websites.
The TelePharmacy® Portal is the private, secure and confidential Portal where each medical practice’s website is located. The use of TelePharmacy® is confined to the medical practice physicians and their agents. TelePharmacy® is used for the preparation, transmission and storage of new and authorized refill prescriptions. The websites contains such private and confidential information as DEA numbers, previously transmitted prescriptions and patient data.
The MNS Portal permits direct Internet communication between health care providers and their patients within a secure and confidential system. Now patients, using MNS, are able to communicate 24 hours a day with their physicians or pharmacists, at their convenience. Patients may ask their physicians non-urgent medical questions, make appointments and request prescription refill authorizations. Patients may also request refills directly from their pharmacies.
The development of HealthCarePersonnelFinder.com is the outgrowth of the knowledge and experience TPI has gained supporting its current operations. While the need for health care personnel is increasingly high, the problem is that many positions must be filled immediately and, in many cases, the local personnel pool is limited. This makes the Internet the most useful vehicle for employers to view, select, and hire potential employees faster from a larger pool of applicants.
